Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
John 14:6 (NKJV)

Jesus is the way, not only to Father God, but also the way to receive healing for your broken heart! Destructive methods of coping with emotional and spiritual pain such as using drugs, alcohol, sex, pornography, etc. are not the way to receive healing for pain and trauma. Those things may temporarily numb the pain, but they do not remove the pain. They only cause more problems and do not heal the damage to your heart and spirit.
When Jesus removes emotional and spiritual pain, it is gone for good! There may be pain in your heart and spirit from several, or even many, hurtful and traumatic situations you experienced during your lifetime. Jesus is able to release all of it! However, He does not normally do that all at once. It usually happens as a process over time.
If you have not done so, begin your healing journey today by asking Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior. Thank Him for what He did for you on the cross. Jesus loves you very much and He wants to heal your broken heart and wounded spirit. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life!
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:27 (NKJV)

Peace. It seems like such a difficult thing to obtain, especially if you are brokenhearted. Jesus knew that the disciples were not at peace, facing the reality of Jesus not being with them. Their hearts must have been breaking. They were surely afraid of what would happen to them without Jesus around. Jesus knew that. He knows the pain and fear in our hearts as well.
When we go through times in our lives that cause pain in our hearts and spirits, we must cling to Jesus and His promises stronger than ever. The emotional and spiritual pain that we experience is real and can lead to physical problems. To avoid that from happening, we should think about what Jesus said and ask Him to fill us with His peace instead. That can seem impossible when something or someone has broken our hearts into a million pieces. However, it is possible, or Jesus would not have said it.
Jesus also told the disciples not to let their hearts be troubled and not to let their hearts be afraid. Experiencing fear is common when we go through a painful and traumatic situation. Ask Jesus to begin releasing the pain and trauma from your heart and spirit. As Jesus releases the emotional and spiritual pain, the fear will leave as well. Give Him the time needed to heal your broken heart. Healing takes time. Keep your eyes on Jesus during the healing process, and you will receive His promised peace.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
Luke 4:18 (NKJV)

Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted. He came to set the captives free. Situations that cause us to be brokenhearted include the loss of a loved one, a divorce, any type of abuse, abandonment, rejection, accidents, and natural disasters. If you are brokenhearted as a result of one or more of those things, you most likely have emotional pain in your heart. Your spirit can also be wounded by those experiences. It is common to stuff that emotional and spiritual pain without even realizing you are doing so.
It helps to talk to someone about the pain and trauma that you have experienced in your life. If possible, forgiving the person or persons responsible for causing that pain and trauma is also an important step in the healing process. However, unless the pain is released from your heart and your spirit, you will not be at peace.
True freedom and joy can only be obtained as Jesus Christ releases that pain and trauma from your heart and spirit. Ask Jesus today to reveal anything that is keeping your heart broken and your spirit from experiencing His peace. Then, ask Him to gently begin the healing process. He loves you very much and wants you to be free!
